PRP Research

Below is a small list of a few studies showing the efficacy and safety of PRP.

I have included one study for each common condition. There are more studies that can be easily found.

Knee Evidence

The study below was a meta analysis/systematic review showing PRP to be more effective and for a longer period of time than cortisone, hyaluronic acid, saline, and placebo.

Elbow Evidence

The study below was a meta analysis/systematic review showing PRP to be more effective and for a longer period of time than cortisone for tennis elbow

Shoulder Evidence

The study below was a meta analysis/systematic review showing PRP to be effective for rotator cuff pathology.

Plantar Fascia (Heel Pain) Evidence

The study below was a meta analysis/systematic review showing PRP superior than cortisone for chronic plantar fasciitis pathology.

Knee Evidence

The study below is another meta analysis/systematic review showing PRP to be more effective and for a longer period of time (3,6, and 12 months) than cortisone, hyaluronic acid, saline, and placebo.

Plantar Fasciitis (Foot) and Elbow Tendonitis Evidence

The study below was a meta analysis/systematic review showing PRP to be effective than cortisone in the short and long term for Plantar Fasciitis and Elbow Epicondylitis (Tennis Elbow).

 Carpal Tunnel Evidence

There are multiple studies showing PRP is effective for carpal tunnel. I included the study below because it was compared and show be be superior to cortisone.
